Print preparation and production supervision: so the print looks like the design

Between the design and the finished catalogue there is a stage where things most easily go wrong: colours, bleeds, paper, finishes. We prepare print-ready files and supervise production so that what you collect from the printer looks exactly like what you approved on screen.

What do print preparation and supervision include?

A design is finished only when the print is on the desk and looks the way it was meant to.

Print preparation is the technical part of the project: converting colours, adding bleeds, checking photo resolution, imposing pages, preparing files for a specific technology and press. Production supervision is everything that happens afterwards:

What does it look like in practice?

  1. We choose the technology and the printer. Based on the design, print run and deadline we propose a printing method and collect quotes, and you choose.
  2. We prepare the files. The files are made to the chosen printer's specification, with colour control and all technical elements checked.
  3. We agree proofs. We check the proof or cromalin together with you, and only after approval does the printer start the run.
  4. We supervise and accept. We stay in contact with the printer to the end, and on delivery we inspect the run. If something is wrong, we sort it out, not you.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to print with your printer?

No. We work with printers we know and have tested, but we will just as happily prepare the files and manage production at the printer you already work with.

How is printing billed?

You settle printing costs directly with the printer. Our fee covers file preparation and supervision, so you can see exactly what the printing itself costs.

What if the print comes out wrong?

Thanks to proofs and checks this rarely happens. If, however, the run differs from the approved proof, we handle the complaint with the printer.
